These prophecies we have just quoted are coming to pass even as you are reading this month’s edition of The Sacred Name Broadcaster Magazine. Grievous times are upon us! This was made quite plain with the attack upon the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington on 9-11, 2001.

It seemed that immediately after that age-defining day, the attitude of many people changed. The realization that suddenly they could be standing on the brink of eternity as they watched airplanes full of innocent people go crashing into these monumental buildings, certainly gave many people trepidation of heart. An arrogant attitude turned into grief as people gave consideration to religion.

However, rather quickly, President George Bush urged the American people to go about their daily lives as if nothing had happened. Consequently, following the shock of the initial event, the people of our country reverted to their previous lifestyles and attitudes again seem to be hardening.

Before 9-11, 2001, it was obvious that many of the evil character traits of 2 Timothy 3 were dominant in the lives of numerous people. Obviously, the Enron financial fiasco that broke like an explosion upon the financial scene was just symptomatic of these evil characteristics. How could the seventh largest company in the United States suddenly fall from such a highly-regarded pedestal? Worth billions of dollars, suddenly the Enron stock was virtually worthless at 26 cents per share. People who considered themselves to be wealthy while holding the Enron stock, suddenly found themselves paupers.

Meanwhile, the ministers of worldly ch-rchianity continue to support sin. Homosexuality and abortion are only two of the more serious sins that are being neglected in weekly sermons. Most of the ministers of ch-rchianity can preach only about love. Yahshua the Messiah is presented as an effeminate, ineffectual teacher and a weak leader; one who will willingly tolerate all kinds of evil. The ministers of ch-rchianity imagine that they will be able to get people saved regardless of what they do, or how they live. This is the ultimate culmination of centuries-long preaching of the no-law doctrine.

Almost every day a new report appears in the news media describing how suicide bombers, mortar shells, missiles, and other violent acts are taking the lives of innocent Israelis. For example, a mother and her ten-year-old daughter in an outlying settlement were held hostage for a period of time and then killed. On the streets of Jerusalem there are still bombers who make it through. In Gaza, where about 5,000 Israeli settlers live near by tens of thousands of Palestinians, incidents of terror make constant newspaper headlines.

It is apparent that the Palestinian Authority, and Chairman Yassir Arafat, with its paramilitary units, such as Tanzim and Al Aqsa Brigades, along with other terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and in Lebanon to the north, Hezbollah, are constantly perpetrating violence against Israel.

Up to this point the nations of the western world have not learned that this current terrorist war is a religious war, spanning 14 centuries. Constantly, we hear about how peaceful the Muslims are. This is an absolute, outrageous lie! If one reads the Koran, he will soon discover that Mohammed (the author) urged his followers to kill anyone who does not believe in Islam. The Islamic fundamentalists are taking that challenge seriously!

The scandal of the collapse of the Enron Corporation, of Houston, Texas, continues to generate a lot of news. Currently, the Enron executives have been called to testify before various committees of Congress. Some of them have taken the fifth amendment, as allowed in the Constitution of the United States in the Bill of Rights (which authorizes a witness to plead that his testimony might incriminate him). It is understood that those who do not testify are guilty in some way, but they are allowed to not give testimony that might be used to convict themselves. Other testimony being given has certainly incriminated the executives of Enron. We remember that Enron was boasting in some of their TV commercials that they were able to make a lot of profit through buying and selling energy at peak and off-peak times. Some of that profit was used to purchase the right to name the new baseball stadium occupied by the Houston Astros team. Although the Enron company did own some energy-producing and transportation companies, the company had gone into stock derivatives, which is a system some slick operators use to create wealth out of debt.

A female domestic short-haired feline, called Copy Cat, was born December 22, and is now healthy and frisky, according to Texas A&M University scientists in College Station. The school of veterinary medicine at Texas A&M University engaged in this project, which reported successes in cloning dogs and cats. Up to this point, bovines have been cloned, and also swine. It has also been reported recently that the medical community is ready to clone humans. Nevertheless, it appears that clones have been plagued with feeble organs. The University of Tennessee cloned a Jersey calf, but the calf was found dead in the pasture. Post-mortem examinations conducted on deceased clones reveal organs that are not properly developed.

Some television commercials done by a drug-selling company have described a town called Perfect. However, we realize that perfect (perfection) will only be achieved in the Age to Come, the Millennium, and in Eternity to follow.

Throughout the sacred Scriptures, the prophets and apostles had pronounced doom upon a degenerate, sinful society that will be living at the end of the age. However, they also described the hope that each True Worshiper has, that there will be a perfect age to come.

To be admitted to the glorious age of Yahweh’s coming Kingdom one must begin to live the Kingdom way of life right now. We must prove our loyalty to Yahweh and His Word by converting our hearts to implement His Covenant Law in our daily lives. Why not begin now to experience that coming Age of Blessing in your own personal life?

"And in that day shall you say, Give thanks to Yahweh, call upon his name, declare his doings among the peoples, make mention that his name is exalted. Sing to Yahweh; for he has done excellent things: let this be known in all the earth. Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for great in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel." (Isaiah 12:4-6).
