"And it came to pass, when Yahshua had finished these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching: for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes." (Matthew 7:28–29). "And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught. And they were astonished at his teaching: for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes. And straightway there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and cried out, saying, What have we to do with you, Yahshua you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are, the Holy One of Elohim. And Yahshua rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him. And the unclean spirit, tearing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? A new teaching! With authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him. And the report of him went out straightway everywhere into the region of Galilee all around." (Mark 1:21–28). The true understanding of this message from the sacred Scriptures is to recognize Yahweh’s written word as speaking with the voice of authority. Salvation for all eternity demands that the human being who desires to be saved must submit himself completely to the instructions of the sacred Scriptures through humble obedience to Yahweh’s commandments. Mankind must make a personal decision whether they will yield their own human will to the authority of the eternal will of the universe, to the Creator Being who has spoken in the sacred Scriptures. We are reminded that He is our Creator and that He has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. He straightforwardly urges us to accept Him at His Word through the things that He has spoken, and through the teaching of the Word made flesh, His only begotten Son Yahshua the Messiah. Yahshua demonstrated the authority of the Word of Yahweh. This authority in Yahweh’s Word can be determined by those who recognize that what has been written in the sacred Scriptures is for our instruction. The secondary title of this article, "He Speaks with Authority," relates to the passages we have read, texts that demonstrate the authority of Yahweh. Yahshua the Messiah, with that authority, cast out demons, and all the people who saw it done exclaimed together, "What is this word? for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out." (Luke 4:36b). Coming to Revelation chapter 10, we encounter a great voice of authority. The entire chapter brings to us sharply the recognition of the heavenly authority of Yahweh. Although Revelation chapter 10 is fairly brief in length, it is indeed very deep in content. Notice as we read through this chapter that the entire chapter concentrates upon the authority of the power of heaven and what man will do in response to that demonstrated authority and power. Our study of the central chapters of the book of Revelation were begun several months ago with chapter 12, in an endeavor to answer some questions from brethren in regard to the contents of that passage. After obtaining a broader overview of the surrounding chapters, we had gained much new insight from this study. In effect, we had turned the book of Revelation inside out. How thankful we are to Almighty Yahweh for having educated us in this way and for having opened to us new visions of what the book of Revelation was intended to convey. What a great passage of Scripture is found in Revelation chapter 10. There are many other points that we could pursue. Nevertheless, it is a tremendous passage that SHOWS THE AUTHORITY OF YAHWEH AND HIS WORD. Starting with the beginning, of the chapter, which indicates that Yahshua will return with a supernatural body. He will cry out with a great voice (the voice of authority), whereupon the seven thunders utter their voices through speaking with the voice of authority. Yahshua swears to Him that lives forever and ever, and thereafter, He receives His authority to reign over the earth, and He has the voice which will open up to us the book of life. The entire chapter of Revelation 10 is filled with authority. Yahweh speaks with authority in His Word and Yahshua speaks with the authority of Yahweh. His people will hear and obey. May Yahweh bless us as His end-time assembly and may we complete the calling to fulfill the Great Commission to which we have been called. Let us praise Yahweh every day for how He has revealed these great lessons to us! Editor’s Note: Since the method employed by the author is such a radical departure from that employed by other teachers of Bible prophecy, yet it is so simple and logical to interpret Scripture with other Scripture, the author recommends that you restudy this chapter several times to gain the full impact of what he has pointed out. Don’t just read this material, but study it very carefully so you will not forget it. Join us in the next issue for more of this absorbing study of the book of Revelation
